The city speaks of history at every corner.  Stroll along the many palaces, view the  houses of its famous composers,  visit museums with rich collections and attend outstanding ballet and opera performances at the famous Mariinsky, Kirov Theatre or at the charming Hermitage, the private theatre of Catherine the Great.
